FARMERS
MARKET
The
Farmers Market became an instant institution, when in 1934, a contingent
of farmers pulled their trucks onto an empty lot and displayed their produce
on the tailgates of their vehicles. It soon became the central meeting
place for Angeleno’s. “Meet me at 3rd and Fairfax” has become a common
phrase in the city! The Market continues to offer farm fresh produce as
well as restaurants, gift shops, magazines, books and services. Sit at
the counter or patio of Kokomo's for great BLTs. For Cajon, The Gumbo Pot
has delicious jambalaya. Du-Par's is a retro style coffehouse with great
pancakes and homemade pies.

were presented at a black-tie dinner, held in the Blossom Room of the hotel.
Following dinner, Academy president Douglas Fairbanks made the presentations.
Twelve Oscars were handed out in less then 10 minutes! Among the recipients
